Alistair Stoddart of The Democratic Society, shares some initial thoughts from the Better Place forum.

Community development workers, academics, campaigners, public service managers and local and national senior officials gathered at the University of Edinburgh for the forum. Its purpose was to help decision-makers, practitioners and expert examine ways to allow greater citizen involvement in public service decisions and delivery.

The event tried to identify common language, approaches and leadership profiles that can help bring about more collaborative work between and among institutions and citizens in a changing Scotland.
