Here Jane Cullingworth, a What Works Scotland PhD candidate, reports on work to develop a vision that re-imagines community planning in Scotland.

What Works Scotland has been working with the third sector on this project, which has contributed to a new model of third sector representation, now being piloted in Strive in East Lothian. Strive represents the third sector in community planning, but how does one organisation speak on behalf of so many diverse groups?

The model developed a way for third sector organisations to speak directly. It asked how the third sector should be represented and by whom, when the sector needs representation and ensures all bodies are able to take part.
