This workshop explored the contribution of co-production to the design, improvement and innovation of public services.

Professor Stephen Osborne from the University of Edinburgh Business School hosted this event.

It provided a forum for discussion on the definition, implementation and outcomes of co-production and to explore the links to service design and innovation by considering the following themes:

  • the roles of citizens, professionals and managers in embedding learning and knowledge from co-production
  • the relationship between co-production and the co-design and co-creation of public services
  • the challenges of innovation in public services through co-production.
